Then they stressed for favourate subject iam said that desin iof reinforced concrete design is my favourate subject.
4. Can u design a beam for me?
Ans: yae sir, (iam explained the whole procedure of design of beam with respective code clauses)
5. what is the arrangement of reinforcement in column having 500mm width?
Ans: iam explained the arrangement of 6 steel bars and stirrups as per 456:2000
6. what is the arrangement of reinforcement in column having 1000mm width?
Ans: iam explaines how 2 stirupps are introduced when the width of beam is increased and given the reasons why we r doing so.
7.what is the test to determine the compressive strength of cement?
Ans: iam explained the cube testing (150 mm cube) method

In bio data form I am written that “I got proficient knowledge on pile foundations and pre stressed concrete during industrial training period”
So they asked questions on pile foundations and pre stressed concrete
8.when u prefer the pile foundations?
9. what is prestressed concrete?

Iam explains both with appropriate diagrams

VARUN experiences:
Hi..this is R.Varun Kumar doing my final yr civil Engineering....The campus interview
Consisted of two parts...

1. Written Test
For getting through the written aptitude test I suggest you to go through Mathematical Aptitude and Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning by RS Aggarwal .It consisted of 50 questions which included DI, Data sufficiency, Problems on ages and all types of Quant questions etc. The time allotted for us was 60 mins and we needed to answer 50 questions.

(Note: You need to time conscious while answering the questions as sticking to the same problem for a long time would not be of any help)

2. Technical and HR interview (Both simultaneously)
Technical Questions:
1. What is your favorite subject????
Ans: My answer was Environmental Engineering. But please what I do suggest you people is to go through the entire textbook of your favorite subject. Going through the text is not sufficient as the interviewers may test your general awareness and the latest developments of the subject.

2. How do you design a beam???
Ans: Told…Refer RCS-1 for the general design of a singly reinforced and doubly reinforced beams

3. What is the pollution level presently in Vishakapatnam???
Ans :I could not answer this question as I was unaware of the latest pollution analysis of Vizag. So please if you do not know the answer its worth saying “I m not aware of the facts” than to say “I think….” Do not ever try to bluff the interviewer. The answer for this question is 88ppm recorded at Jagadamba Centre, Vishakapatnam.

4. What is the pH value of distilled water????
Ans: 7

5. What is the pH value of municipal water in Vizag???

6. What do you mean by Compaction???
Ans:Refer Geo-Techincal Engineering by K.R Arora for the answer….Remember your definition must be accurate and precise.

7.How do you perform it???What are the various mehods of compacting soils????
Ans:Told the various methods of compaction that include IS Light Weight Compaction and IS heavy weight compaction methods that include the various details and specifications of the rammers used.

9.What is the specific gravity of steel????
Ans: Go through the specific gravity values of all the building materials and various types of soils for this answer.
HR Questions:
1.Tell me about yourself
Ans:Told..I suggest you write this on a piece of paper..and practice a mock rehearsal in front of your friends so that u wont get nervous while answering this question.
